[GW Beatdown] Primer
I. Introduction
This is a deck that I brewed for league #1 and eventually it won me the whole league. I didn't play it in all matches, but I played it few times during the league and the top4 match and finals.
The idea behind this deck was that I found Guardian of the Guildpact and Blastoderm really underplayed in the current metagame. That also means that people are not used to play against them and might not have too many answer to t3 Guardian or Blastoderm. So I built the deck to play those beats down as soon as possible, which is turn 3 if we want to keep the deck consistent and forget Lotus Petal etc. This deck can also drop a t2 threat in the form of Porcelain Legionnaire and playset of Aurochs Herd means that the deck can also seal the game if the battlefield stales. High creature count means that the gameplan doesn't fall into removal or counterspells. You will get beaters to the battlefield!
II. The Deck
Beaters
These are the creatures that get there! Very cost efficient and hard to deal with (apart from Legionnaire, which dies to every spell).
Porcelain Legionnaire: This deck needs also a t2 play, because in some matchups it is necessary to have it. Also enables the Prismatic Strands flashback.
Guardian of the Guildpact: Very hard to deal with, basically unblockable & shroud in the current meta.
Blastoderm: The biggest creature in the format, apart from Ulamog.
Aurochs Herd: Lategame and reach.
Ramp/fixing
Because t3 Blastoderm is so much better than t4 Blastoderm.
Avacyn's Pilgrim: Ramps and fixes for white.
Llanowar Elves: Ramp.
Civic Wayfinder/Borderland Ranger: Ramp and fixing + CA. Split because of Echoing Truth.
Utility
Suture Priest: Makes the racing more favorable and is just well positioned card in the current meta.
Journey to Nowhere: Spot removal.
Armadillo Cloack: Awesome for Guardian, but also solid for any early creatures if you can't get your Guardian on to the battlefield.
