This thread is for discussion about AVR spoilers for pauper format.
So far we have seen two new mechanics. Soulbound & Miracle. What do you think of those?

I like them both. Soulbound has chance of being confusing as hell tough.
Miracle is just using unexplored design space, which i love. It also creates possibility for bluff. It has some chance of being busted in legacy with brainstorm too, since it offsets the chance of having them in the opener.

Cloudshift W. Instant Exile ctreature you control, and return it to battlefield
Wingcrafter. U. Creature Soulbond When souldbondedboth creatures gain flying. 1/1
Joint Assault G. Instant Target creature gets +2/+2. If souldbonded, so does that creature.
Bonded Peddler 1G Soulbond If bonded both creatures gain deathtouch. 1/1
So far i like the way things are shaping up. I can see a soulbond giving a creature protection from "----", and hopefully our common miracles are worthwhile.

Interesting that we're getting Angels in Ravnica guild colors, eh? www.mtgoacademy.com/avacyn-restored-visual-spoiler/Also, on Episode 53 I talk a little bit about how Joint Assault could make waves in Mono Green Stompy if we got a Soulbond creature at common in green: Mono Green Stompy Deathtouch? Yes, please.

I don't like to be negative usually but I see this as quite a stretch for stompy. I think that deck just wants to deal as much damage as possible, not necessarily kill creatures.
The 1/1 guy that gives deathtouch (I feel that the soulbound mechanic basically uses a weak creature as an Aura) is too small to add more damage and doesn't give evasion or a power boost which makes me think it wouldn't help that much. The pump cards in stompy are usually enough to kill any blocking creature OR deal more damage to the opponent so I'm quite sure they are definitely better than the death touch on a 2 mana 1/1.
If we get a common soulbound that pumps power or that itself is bigger or has some other ability relevant to accelerating the opponent's demise, I would get behind it. I do agree that that the dual assault could have potential, but I think it would take at least to relevant soulbound creatures to be consistently better than the existing options out there.
Those are my 2 cents.

Yeah I think that the 1/1 body is just too small... I dont have very high hopes for Soulbound on pauper, I have this feeling that unc and rares will get playable soulbound creatures...

The "aura on a stick" way of describing Soulbond is pretty accurate.
I just keep thinking about one of Stompy's biggest set backs; when your opponent puts down walls or creatures that prevent you from getting through. This seems like it could potentially solve that problem, albeit not the perfect solution.
But I do agree that in testing something like this, Nightshade Peddler would probably replace a pump spell, not a creature.

I can see the Peddler being good in some matchups and completely irrelevant in others. I really like Wingcrafter. A one mana Wind Dancer with haste (~sort of)? Sure! I've been thinking about building a U/G Infect deck, and this guy looks like it could do some work in there.

I already have that deck built! When you have list let's compare, mine is changed a bit from the primer that is somewhere here...

There seem to be some more solid flicker effects coming in Ghostly Flicker and Cloudshift, and both at common! I think there's a chance those could be some good options.

So....can you Act of Treason a dude, then Cloudshift it, and it's yours forever?
Semi-Related: would that work on a potential mate?

You have a very interesting point there. I wonder what the FAQ has to say.

Short answer yes. Unlike turn to mist/momentary blink you return creature you control to...your control. Seems legit to me. Now if only there were targets really worth treasoning in pauper. Could make an interesting BW rats deck with cloudshift and undying evil to abuse all the ETB/LTB triggers at your disposal.
Also forgot that cloudshift is an imediate return, not "at the beginning of the next end step" so you could flicker a rat on opponents turn (say after their draw step maybe?) and still have it available as a blocker.

~Risky Bet Instant Discard your hand, then draw two cards. Illus. Drew Baker
You saw it here first folks.. I think this one is going to go in goblins, burn, maybe even storm or affinity.. anything with red that likes to play its hand real quick.

I'm thinking Banners Raised (R, your creatures get +1/+0 until EOT) might see play.
Battle Hym (Add R for each creature you control) migh create some new form of combo with Empty the warrens.
Abundant Growth (G, enchant land, when it enters draw a card, enchanted land has tap: add one mana of any color) is the color fixing pauper needed in many ways.
Wandering Wolf(1G, creature, 2/1, creatures with less power cant block it) might see play in stompy.
Winner award for "unnecessary skill tester": Grounded (1G, aura, enchanted creature loses flying).
