I'm pretty bad at drafting, but I gotta tell u guys my Release story... I opened up 4 mythics!!!
Ok, back to earth... Yes, they were 4 mythics but all of them quite cheap ones in monetary value but expensive in mana cost. Mind you, two of them were genuine bombs: niv-mizzet and isperia. I tried to make a blue/red/white deck to fit them both but that didn't work. I ended up going blue/red which was the combination I least wanted to end up with but you play with what you got.
I splashed black for some extra removal and a cool rakdos creature and I added my third mythic: utvara hellkite, but even for sealed it's too slow and clunky and the only time I managed to get it in play it got immediately arrested.
The 4th mythic was worldspine wurm, even more unplayable. I also opened death rite shaman which ended up being worth more than all the mythics.
Thanks to a nice suite of removal, including 2 anihilating fires, I was able to go 3-1 and was also able to get 11tix from my pool, probably about average for the value of cards during the early release period but all in all a great experience, I recommend it!

Chris, I listen to limited resources and have been reading all the articles. So I have a good idea of what cards to pick and what decks to build. I had good cards last night, so I cant really blame that. As you may or may not know I have only been in Magic for 18 months so its my ability more then anything. Actually I blame my ADD and aggro nature, but it basically comes down to dumb mistakes. I'm trying to stay positive , the first guy I played last night ended up winning the whole thing and I had him in game three and he lucked out Anyway I'll be back at the draft table soon enough

I grinded out 3 games a while back during prelease on MTGO with 3 3-1s. The format is fairly slow with a general lack of removal. Rakdos and Seleysna have some strong aggro openings, but it still seems like a slower format than m13 (and especially M12).
Surprisingly, it doesn't play out similarly to the old ravnica in draft. Color fixing is still important, but you're not going to be first picking fixes in most circumstances.
Rakdos aggro/unleash seems to be the strongest archetype. GW aggro and UW skies can probably be better/faster decks (detain was better while playing than it looks on paper), but it seems like you'd have to get semi-lucky in your picks; rakdos seems to have a lot more playable commons.
GW midrange (either fatties or tokens) also is a decent deck. GW seems to have a lot of flexibility of which direction to do. It also seemed to match up fairly well against rakdos.
Control struck me as weaker; the format seems to have less/weaker removal (incinerate for RR1 is harder to splash than LB for R1) and semi-poor access to CA (4cc instant over 3cc sorc). My hunch is that it will be a bit like m13, where control was viable, but you either needed access to some good picks or to be the only one (or two) person drafting it.
That's my take on it anyways.

Ckangas got lucky + used your advice and drafted GW tokens with a blue splash and went 2-1 in swiss that land that makes 8/8 elemental then populate is hard to stop
After that tried U/W and got smoked
G/W way to go if you can draft the cards

I havent drafted yet, but in the 2 release sealed tournaments it seemed like Control was very legit strategy, but then again drafting is so different from sealed.

Oh man. Pack Rat is awesome. I drafted this pretty good rakdos deck with few scavenge and P3P1 Pack Rat BOOM! Went naturally 3-0 without losing a game (I casted pack rat twice in t2 and once in later game)
