Anyone else played the new player drafts in modo? The drafting in those is pretty interesting as it is only for 4 people. That means you can easily spot what is open and if there are some cards you need to play around. Last night I played one new player draft again and finals was interesting. In G2 I mull down to 6 cards. Im playing GB 19 creatures deck and the hand had only 3swamps and two black creatures in it + Wring Flesh. I proceed to draw only swamps and mainly green spells but still win the game on turn 14 with 5 green spells in hand that I couldnt cast and he had about 10 lands in all colors he needed in the BF.

So far I have played 8 New Player Drafts (20 possible). Each draft costs 1ticket and I have won 5 out of the 8 drafts (62.50%). Anyone can do the math for EV?

If you win rate is truly 62,50%, you are going to win 0,625 packs per draft. With goatbots buying M14 packs today at 3.31, that means you expect to win 0,625*3,31 Is your VAT 25% like in Sweden? In that case the drafts cost you roughly 1,4 tickets. 0,625*3,31-1,4 = +0,669 Your EV per tournament is then 0,669 tickets, which is super awesome for a limited format. The New Player Drafts are the best limited EV on Magic Online usually I have done several of them on video and loads more off camera. Here is a quite recent one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h61o4_-Sio

I have been having a ton of fun with the New Player Sealed Deck Tournaments lately. Here is a sample: www.youtube.com/watch?v=altNZP-G6LAThe more I play M14, the more I love it!
