Am I the only one that feels like wotc has a death wish for blue based control decks in standard? I check the dragon maze spoilers daily and everyday there's another tool for fighting the decks that require actually skill. I personally have quit playing standard very recently cause of the dominance of boring green white midrange decks. Im really concerned this will become a recurring theme and my beloved control will become at best a fringe deck. Control has already changed greatly from the when I started and I know things must change but I don't think every set should get a dozen cards to nerf control.
Notion thief, legion's initiative, stagtusk, aetherling, council of the absolute get to join the uncounterable cycle, cavern of souls, rakdos's return, thragtusk, boros charm, and golgari charm as cards printed to nerf control decks.
to me that's and upsettingly long list and a view of things to come

I can argue with that. WotC doesn't hate control, I am sure they feel the importance of Force of Will to Legacy and Vintage for example. They know why we need control decks in any format, but right now they are just pushing creatures and want to feel how the standard plays with power creep in creatures.
I am sure we will see efficient control tools in the future also! One might even argue that Supreme Verdict and Abrupt Decay are pretty good control tools, they just don't play like that in the current metagame, though I feel Verdict could... maybe...
