Is Grim Harvest just plain better? I want to find some use to Disturbed Burial, but every time time i find a place for it, Grim Harvest just takes it. For reference: PS: How to make spoilers on this forum?

Now this is a discussion I can get behind. Instead of comparing Johansson apples and Alba oranges we can pick which Olsen twin brings back creatures better.
Grim Harvest is better in regular decks since it is instant speed and has an installment plan. Disturbed Burial would be better in some sort of big mana deck that can afford to pay five up front like Cloudpost.

Disturbed Burial would be better in some sort of big mana deck that can afford to pay five up front like Cloudpost. I do agree that you need quite some mana to efficiently exploit Disturbed Burial. But you need the same amount of mana for Grim Harvest for casting and returning it. I've found myself quite often in a situation where I could cast Grim Harvest at the end of my opponent's turn but don't have the mana up for the Recovery cost. Since I don't want to cast my Grim Harvest only once (if the opponent has a removal), I end up not casting it at all. The upside of Grim Harvest is obviously its Instant speed (which makes it a nice target for Mystical Teachings). However, some decks might have some difficulties with BB for casting and Recovery. The advantage of Disturbed Burial is its ability to return multiple creatures without the requirement of a dying creature on your side of the battlefield.

Absolutely true, you wouldn't cast Grim Harvest without five mana open if you could avoid. However, you sometimes have the ability to return it later whereas with Disturbed Burial you can't once you pay the discounted price.
Good point about the black requirements. Grim Harvest is not as splashable. If you had the ability to use Disturbed Burial more than once in a turn wouldn't you just rather have Death Denied?

Well, i don't think ill ever run the burial over the harvest anyway. After seeing so many modern lists with the Martyrproc engine going on i was thinking of porting it to pauper, since i like that so much.

It uses Martyr of Sands and Proclamation of Rebirth to gain massive life. I believe it was a measure to fight zoo.
(i might have used the term "engine incorrectly, not sure)
