Interesting episode. I liked the deck building segment, so keep doing it once in a while!

I also liked the Manamorphose idea, and it interacts so well with Putrid Leech and Terminate. Good call on that one, Nate.

I think the Rootwalla + Mongrel thing might be cute, i dont know. Irent there any more compelling 2 drops? Or perhaps someone can convince me of these cards power.

@ ANZ: Rootwalla is a pretty aggressive creature. It's virtually a 3/3 for 1 or even 0 mana. The fact that it can be pumped upon 2 toughness is quite nice since the power of most creatures is 2 or less. In the beginning, I couldn't appreciate the power level of Wild Mongrel, either. But it's quite big. For solely 2 mana, it survives most early creatures and provides value to dead cards you draw. Moreover, it can dodge color-dependent removal. The synergy of those two cards are pretty obvious. However, I'm not quite sure if Wild Mongrel has his slots in a Jund deck or - let's put it that way - in this particular Jund deck. I don't really see a card I'd be willing to discard for Wild Mongrel except for Basking Rootwalla, obviously, and excess lands which would be counter-productive with Plated Geopede Oo I'd rather go for one of those two aggressors (Wild Mongrel or Plated Geopede) and swap the other for Civic Wayfinder/ Borderland Ranger. Those two don't only help fixing the mana but also get you the +1/+1 or +2/+2 bonus, respectively.
@ the deckbuilders: I don't really see the value of River Boa. It might be considered as an anti-blue card but it doesn't do its job, does it? If it finds its way onto the battlefield dodging all the counter-magic, the Regeneration ability isn't doing anything of great value. It may deal 2 points of damage each turn but the clock of a Delver deck is way faster. Moreover, the blue deck has more than enough answers to the Snake (bounce and Piracy Charm). Therefore, if you really want to include something similar, I'd go for Mire Boa where the Regeneration ability is indeed annoying for the MBC player (or at least more annoying than for the blue player).

Played 3 matches so far, details to come during lunch break.
highgene: we could make a deck with all the boas, and call it "Snakes on a Plane". Get it? Plane?
The boa may be getting cut for the reasons you mentioned. Especially without any pump effects, it is a very slow clock. We'll see.
