The crew looks into how the metagame has shifted over the year the podcast has been on the air. What decks have fallen out of favor, and which decks are back on the rise? Which cards have impacted our metagame? What does the future of the format hold? Also, two different tweaks on Chris’ Reanimator deck, questions from the community regarding Delver of Secrets and Mono Green Stompy, and a mediocre pack is cracked from Nate’s Cube. This is Pauper to the People. Link: www.mtgcast.com/?p=24382MTGO Cube Article: www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/927

Pauper to the People, congratulations for your birthday, thanks a lot for providing such a delightful show every week! I've been listening since episode 29, and it's been a great ride. Thanks, really.
About the episode itself, i liked you guys looking at pauper's past talking about the old metagame, and how it shifts as time passes. Pauper is indeed a breathing format.
I'm looking forward to the next year!

Congrats on your first year guys. The show is really great and becoming better each time!
Mentioning green stompy at the end there reminds me that right now is probably a good time to buy Quirion Rangers. They were just given away as player rewards for the month of March so the promo version is selling for pretty cheap. This afternoon it was at over 1tx and right now its at .75tx (sorry Matti if you bought them at 1tx like I did). They may get a bit lower, but I'm pretty sure they'll rebound soon and normalize with the original card, which is selling for 4tx. I'm assuming that when the dust settles, they'll both be closer to 2tx.
Basking Rootwalla was also given out, though at a higher tier, but it was enough to bring down its price from .44tx to less than .2tx.

Ranger is down to selling for 20 cents or buying? Cause I'm gonna be extremely pissed I paid a buck for them.
Also thank you for the congrats.

I'm not pissed, just disappointed that I didn't foresee what in hindsight was obvious and also bought 2 of them for 1tx each. But yeah, they are selling at Marlon and MTGOTraders for .19tx now.

Wow. Those little buggers got cheap. Definitely scoop them up now.
Basking Rootwalla is a good pick if you happen to find one or two for cheap. He's fallen out of favor in Mono Green for Young Wolf, but he does seem some play in Dead Dog as well. And Young Wolf is a new addition and is still being felt out, it seems.

He's fallen out of favor? Honestly I use both in mine, the interaction between Rootwalla and Wild Mongrel is still really good and he is a solid 1 drop. But personal preference plays a roll in this, that I'm sure of.
@gabo: I have to agree... IDK how any of us didn't see the price drop coming... I wish the mirage ones were only a ticket though, I love the old border..

I expected them to be cheap, but I thought 1tx was cheap enough.. not almost bulk common price.
It seems the Out-of-Print Drafts are rotating in order. Last time it was Onslaught block and the next one is Mirrodin, so I assume they will continue in that order. That means it will be a while before they get back to Mirage block. However, when they do, make sure to grab all those juicy staples from that block because it seems having those drafts available definitely affects the prices considerably.
Just as an example, during Christmas, there were Tempest sealed events. Lotus petal went from 8tix to just below 4. Now its back to 7-8 tix range.
