So I was looking at the Golgari VS Izzett duel deck and they've got some spoilers in there for RTR. What really caught my eye obviously was the Common
Goblin Electromancer RU Goblin Wizard - Common Instant and Sorcery Spells you cast cost 1 less to cast 2/2
So I'm thinking this could go in every bodies favorite Post deck. I know they have scads of mana to play with, but doesn't it make Capsize that much better?
Could it also make the old RU Kiln Fiend deck better? Not a deck that's seen play in a very long while, but could it?
I know it's all speculation now, but something to think of. Plus its a 2/2 for RU. Seems pretty good even if its just for a decent body that has an ok "spell" attachment.

It is interesting card for sure. I am not sure if cloudpost really needs the 2/2 body or the effect though...

I agree with Matti. Also considering that most critical instant and sorceries included in UR Cloudpost only cost colored mana (i.e. Counterspell and Flame Slash and alike).

I don't know if it's for Post, but danged if this card doesn't intrigue me.
Ah, who am I kidding. Every Izzet card is going to intrigue me.

It seems like a "build-around-me" type card. Which is great.
Does that mean Lightning Bolts are free?!

It only affects the colorless part of a instant or sorcery so Incinerate reads:
R 3 Damage to target Creature or Player.
and Mana Leak is:
U Counter target spell unless that spells controller pays 3.
Between the Goblin, Archaemancer, and Mulldrifter I see a funsie RU deck that's aggro and control and all goodstuff.

It's interesting because it encourages an UR archetype that is quite the opposite of UR Post. Post uses cloudposts to cheat in mana. This card also allows mana cheating, but in almost the reverse way. Instead of encouraging the huge mana investments of crusher, rolling thunder and capsize, it encourages cards like mana leak, exclude, staggershock, compulsive research, etc. It effectively doubles your mana concerning 2CC instants/sorcs and increases it by 50% for 3cc ones.
It also allows some combos with cards already found in many UR delver lists. Cloud of faeries + 2 goblins + ghostly flicker + archaeomancer = infinite mana. Cloud of faeries + 1 goblin + archaeomancer + ghostly flicker = infinite storm. If you include izzet karoos in the mix, the combos get even easier to achieve (boiler + cloud + goblin + archaeomancer + flicker = infinite mana). I'm not a big fan of 4-5 card combos, but when you can justify running all the pieces individually, it seems tempting.
And as noted above, skipping the cute combo tricks might also be viable by forming a shell around delver, archaeomancer and the goblin that focuses on traditional burn, card advantage and counterspells.

So is anyone else noticing what he does to cards like Manamorphose and Pyretic Ritual? Lowering their mana cost dramatically increases their efficiency. Manamorphose in particular- not only will the first one help make sure you can play the Electromancer by filtering for you, but future ones will net mana, fix, and replace. Seems like there could really be something here, presumably storm related, possibly Wee Dragonauts/Kiln Fiend related, since you'll be in Izzet colors anyway.

Snap will have some interesting application in such a deck as well. U, bounce a creature and untap 2 lands seems pretty interesting.

I am less worried what this guy will do to cloudpost than what he will do to all sorts of Storm decks. Familiar storm maybe has enough familiars already, but what if a real storm deck had a familiar? SCARY!

Hey! Maybe this is the guy that will finally get Empty the Warrens and Cloudpost banned!
