I just started listening to Usman's The Third Power podcast and though he mostly covers Standard/Powered Cube he does have Adam Styborski on from time to time to talk about his Pauper Cube and design theory.
One thing they brought up a few times are the ideas of:
1) Limiting the double color casting cost of spells (especially those in the 2-4 CC range) because they tend to "force" you into a color more often than not, and (especially in the case of Black) this is not a great thing if you happen to be going into a midrangy aggro (control) archetype.
2) Try and put in more 1 toughness dudes (In white have 2/1 and 3/2 flyers, or in Blue 1/1 unblockable durdlers, Red might get 2/1 first strikers) So that the -1/-1 spells and the 1 damage to all creature spells have more of a "Wrath of God" effect on the board, and it would help in the long run against more swarmy aggressive decks. (And on the flip side try not to have too many 4 butt dudes to clog the board. Nothing worse than a Wall of Tanglecord or a Penumbra Spider Blocking a bunch of 2/2's and 3/3's playing mad defense.)
---------------------------------
Proof: Tonight we Drafted and I was able to get the Boros Aggro/Burn Deck. Small efficient White and Red creatures (either with flying, first strike or haste) and a Good amount of Burn (including two sweepers).
Needless to say I went 4-0 (Topped my pod played top in the other).
Biggest advantage to me though (and the others that were able to pick them up) was the inclusion of Sweepers.
Going back to topic one quickly then I'll wrap this up; This is the first time in my cube that I've seen a three and four color deck. I honestly didn't think that cutting my Multicolor section to 30 (from 40), changing some of the double color spells to single (IE from Leonin Skyhunter to Knight of Cliffhaven) and adding in more Equipment and Artifact Fixing would do that, but man this was a super fun draft (from a design perspective seeing all these new and interesting decks).
tl;dr
Lower the double color mana spells of your cube
Less Multi Color cards (I have a 390 cube and run 30)
More Artifacts and Equipments (Signets are up to you)
More 1 Toughness Dudes makes 1 Damage sweepers pseudo Wrath of Gods
