Here are a couple of quick tips for using MTGO:
Start MTGO Faster
The MTGO link you usually click on is actually a link to a program called Renamer.exe. It checks with the MTGO server to see if there is a new version of MTGO, then asks you to "update" if there is one or just "launch" if there isn't. The actual MTGO program is executed by a program called MTGO_NET.exe, found in the same location as rename.exe. To make launching MTGO faster I recommend adding two links to your desktop, one for the original link to renamer.exe and one for MTGO_NET.exe. Then you normally use the MTGO_NET.exe link and, only after the Wednesday down times, or if you haven't logged in for a while on that computer, use the renamer.exe link.
This saves you having to click, wait, click wait, click, wait... something that I personally find very annoying.
Store your classified ad
If you are someone constantly buying and trading stuff using the classified adds, you might find it annoying that MTGO has no way of saving your last ad, and forces you to write everything again every time you log in. One extremely simple way to get around this is to have a text document on your desktop (or somewhere with quick access) and to keep your ad or ads, if you have multiple versions, in the document. Then just copy/paste it in when you want to put it into the classifieds.
This also avoids using the very limited text editor capabilities that the MTGO UI has since you are using your own text editor. It makes putting ads on the classifieds much easier.
