I am a huge board game fan I also own Blokus, its fun but nothing spectacular imo. My latest acquisition has been Sid Meier's Civilization + the Fame&Fortune expansion from Fantasy Flight Games. Amazing game if you can find 3-4 people to play 6hours at a time Other favorites of mine are Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne and Dominion.

Had a board game day yesterday with a few friends. Some Zombies!!, a game of Arkham Horror that crashed and burned in record time and a whole lot of Pandemic. I had heard of the latter before but never actually played. It's a blast, and now one of my favorite board game. Up to and best with 4 players; cooperative. Games last for about 45-60 minutes. Very intense, and one of those games which is awesome even if you lose. The idea is basically to find 4 cures before a worldwide pandemic ravage the globe. So good! Highly recommended. The game is covered on one of Table Top's episode. Take a look.

Oh man, I have to echo that about the Civilization boardgame. One of the most fun I've played and a great translation of the computer game to paper form.
Also, FFG's Battlestar Galactica and expansions. The tension of who might really be a Cylon is brutal but fun.

Dominion is fantastic!
And if you're a fan of raunchy humor with your friends, Cards Against Humanity.

Oh yes, I just got to play Cards Against Humanity for the first time a few weeks ago and it was a hilarious blast.
I have to second Dominion as well. I'm at least 3 expansions behind right now, but it's still a fast, awesome game.

Oh, also, Sentinels of the Multiverse is one of the most fun games that I've ever played.

Ok, I'm old school, but Risk is the best board game ever invented.

RISK is a very good game. Sometimes the end game can be tedious though.
Have you tried any of the various other versions? I have the LotR version and the RISK 2240 one. Both are neat twists on the theme.

Risk 2210 is a great game!
Did anyone else see the teasers for the Mass Effect Risk? I'm very much looking forward to that.

Yeah, saw the news for that one on Kotaku. Haven't really played Risk in years, but I may want to see what the ME version looks like.

SWEET! Tomorrow we will play Civilization again with friends. Our wives arranged a free evening for all of us so we are able to get together and play a game or two
