It's that time again to update the Pauper Cube with new picks! Obviously card swapping will need to take place, but what commons from the new set do y'all think are playable in the current cube? Did we miss any from the Ravnica block that should get some consideration? Are there cards from older sets we missed? Current Cube: tappedout.net/mtg-cube-drafts/pauper-to-the-peoples-community-cube/My Picks so farDMZ:Rakdos Drake Rubblebelt Maaka Weapon Surge Viashano Firstblade Beetleform Mage Deputy of Acquittals Tithe Drinker RTR/GTC:Frostburn Wierd Basilica Screecher Older Sets:Whitemane Lion

What is the decision process regarding what to take out? Do you look for similar older cards to replace or what goes through your head?
If I ever cube, it would be a pauper cube. Power cubes are just boring, imho. I have cubed a set of Collector's Edition. It was the worst.

I started with a base list and went from there but yea I basically find similar cards and replace them but there some cards in there that are fillers until something better comes along a good example of this is Renegade Demon or Phyrexian Hulk. It takes alot of time and effort to keep the cube up to date but it's well worth it. It is crazy fun to draft.

That Weapon Surge looks like a cool one to have in a Boros or Gruul deck or even a Red deck with a critical mass of doods.
I can't remember if the community cube supports any type of a token strategy, but this along with any other type of anthem effects are great to have.
Oh and the cube looks great. I can't wait to start the Crack-A-Packs up again to see what the community has to say!

In talking about Signet vs. Cluestone:
You would include the Cluestones if you wanted to "slow down" your draft format and provide Fixing instead of Ramp. I would compare this to the fabled argument of the Guildgates vs. the Ravnica Karoos.
