I'm a bad Magic player. I know this, and for some reason I still like the idea of limited play, go figure. I recently did a Phantom DGM Sealed event and it went horribly. I was wondering, if I posted the card pool I got and the deck I built, could you guys help me to see where I messed up? I know the answer is going to be "everywhere", but anything more than that would be very appreciated

I would have likely gone the Naya route here:
Sunhome Guildmage is one of the best uncommons in the block for limited. It creates so much inevitability in the long run that if it your opponent can't deal with it you are likely winning. You happen to have two of them in your pool, which is awesome! Your Emmara also works well with the guildmages btw.
Green is the deepest color in your pool and definitely you build around the efficient green creatures. 2x Selesnya Guildgate and Verdant Haven means that splashing white isn't a problem. This deck has 7 white mana symbols, but all of them are singletons in cards and Smite, Trostani's Judgement and Emmara are late game spells anyway. Foundry Streer Denizen isn't great in sealed, but the guildmages make it somewhat relevant in the late game too. I imagine he will be 3/1 quite often. Call of the Conclave (which is in wrong section btw) is the last cut from the deck. It is a great spell, but hard to cast especially since I would put more emphasis on Forests and Mountains and use the guildgates and few plains to splash the white in this list.
The curve here is decent. You will be able to punish someone who doesn't play spells in the early turns and you have inevitability in the long run in the form of Guildmages and some bigger creatures like Emmara, Axebane Stag, Mossdog and Longlegs. Early fliers can cause problems for you though.

What Yugular said, pretty much, except that I think Foundry Street Denizen is utterly unplayable in Sealed

Thank you for your ideas I'm still learning the game itself, so drafting (can playing sealed be called drafting?) is something that I'm prepared to struggle with for some time to come. In that spirit, I have to ask: how do you choose which colours you'll play with? I understand I have to search for something really powerful (the bombs) and try and build a deck in the colours of that something, but what exactly is the process? What steps do you go through to build the deck?

Thank you for your ideas I'm still learning the game itself, so drafting (can playing sealed be called drafting?) is something that I'm prepared to struggle with for some time to come. No problem. Sealed is very different from drafting, while it's also limited. Both limited formats favour more skilled players and you need practice to become better. In that spirit, I have to ask: how do you choose which colours you'll play with? I understand I have to search for something really powerful (the bombs) and try and build a deck in the colours of that something, but what exactly is the process? What steps do you go through to build the deck? In sealed I just look the pool and estimate the number of good cards and playables in few different combinations that seem likely. In this case it was easy to notice that green is by far the deepest color in you pool and the overall quality of green cards was ok. Looking at the bombs and removal is also necessary. Emmara is sort of a bomb and was easy to include in your deck and then the true bombs (guildmages) were also easy to include from there as they also compliment each others. LR has done couple of sealed specific episodes, those could be very useful if you can find them!
