Hello, and thanks for having a look here. When I first started playing MtGO, my friend asked me if it was possible to build a pauper version of one of his old decks, so in I went... and here's the result. I've been toying with this deck for pauper for a few months, tweaking and tweaking, and trying to create a deck that can stand toe to toe with at least Tier 2 decks.
Rakdos Nightmare Control
I'd appreciate your questions, comments, and general thoughts.
My experience with this deck in various matchups...
vs Goblins: Bad matchup. Even when I had a full set of Electrickery mainboard I couldn't keep them off me.
vs Affinity: Decent-to-good matchup, especially post-board. This deck hates on Affinity fairly hard, but it can be hard to keep the Petravarks alive.
vs Stompy: Decent-to-bad matchup. Like Goblins it can be hard to keep up with the drop speed if they start with only creatures and then draw into pump, but if they don't it's possible to keep up if you draw enough kill spells.
vs White Weenie: Decent matchup. Amusingly, unlike Goblins it's a lot easier to keep (all) their creatures down, since they don't run sac-to-pump creatures.
vs non-StormPost: Decent matchup. Depends on how much of my land-hate I draw.
vs Stormpost: Infuriating. Because Storm.
vs Familiar Storm: Bad-to-decent matchup. Easier to disrupt than Stormpost, but still a tough nut to crack.
vs Delver: Decent-to-bad matchup. It's entirely possible to win, but it's tough.
vs Delver-Fiend: Excellent matchup. This deck has way too much removal to not win, since D-F doesn't run a lot of counterspells.
vs Burn: Projected to be decent, but not 100% sure.
