Hello everybody! This is my deck list.. I'd like to build a pure damage deck and I'm thinking to remove from the deck kiln fiend because it is usually countered or bolted.. or maybe reduce the number to 2 and put something else.. maybe Goblin Fireslinger
creatures
4x kiln field 4x keldon marauders
spells
4x chain lightning 4x lightning bolt 4x lava spike 4x needle drop 4x incinerate 4x rift bolt 4x fireblast 2x searing spear 2x shock 2x flame rift 1x shard volley
lands
18x mountain
What do you suggest?
i think that it should be good to reduce the number of lands to 17 and to replace kiln with goblin fireslinger or maybe 2 kiln and 2 goblin or 2 goblin and increment searing spear to 4
any suggestion for the SB?

In the end Fireslinger should win out against Kiln Fiend. As much as I love Kiln, the slinger is seen as a lesser threat, but can provide more average damage per battle.
Like you said, the Kiln is killed immediately. The slinger probably won't be seen as a big threat since it only pings.
Have you thought of Spark Elemental?

thanks for the reply.. yes i thought about spark elemental but i didn't know what to remove from the deck to play spark.. and then there's a problem.. it has just 1 point of toughness so it can be killed very easily.. maybe with some stupid ability and i can't attack with it. Then I think that if an opponent has little life, i'd prefer to draw a bolt instead of a creature.. I don't know.. maybe I can put it in sideboard against decks with a lot of weak creatures..

I agree with fireslinger over Kiln Fiend as well. I was never a huge fan of Kiln Fiend in this deck to be honest because it felt like a card that says "hey I randomly win". it also makes you try to win in 1 turn and waste your spells and if it gets killed, then your kind of boned.
I don't think Kiln Fiend would be a good sideboard for 2 reasons. 1, I'm not sure when it would seem like good idea to side it in and 2, its probably taking up a sideboard spot for a much more useful card.

I wouldn't recommend running Incinerate, Shock, Smelt (Smash to Smithreens is just better) or Searing Spear.
I would include Kiln Field so that you'll have a better MU against Green Aggro and Post decks, and I'll run 04x Searing Blaze - in pauper you will not face ANY deck-list which does not run creatures.
I recommend scanning through deck-list found on the main MTG website to get an idea of what Burn list works or visiting the pre-existing burn thread on this webpage (I have no idea why we have two threads on the same topic)

Kiln fiend is your best chance against M U Post, which is still close to 15% of the meta. While it's possible to beat the deck without seeing one, it's an uphill battle....even with 4 molten rains in your SB. It isn't particularly great against affinity, but it's solid against MGA and delver. The fiend is weak against is UR Post and other control builds. You're giving them an effective target for their removal. That being said, control is at a historic low in the meta; basically at 10%.
