Pauper to the People 120 – A Suitable Honeymoon Soundtrack Dan woke up early, Chris got beat at paper Pauper, Nate wants to be a wrestling commentator, and Peter is “that guy”. The gang welcomes Dan Horning, of MTGOStrat noteriety, on to discuss the Pauper Gauntlet, Slivers, and a surprisingly relevant Heroes of the Web. This is Pauper to the People. mtgostrat.com/2013/07/pauper-to-the-people-120-a-suitable-honeymoon-soundtrack/

That was an amazing episode. Loved listening to Dan as a special guest. And I think that you guys might be onto something for the whole "WWE" announcer thing for matches. Maybe someone can do that with Dan for the Gauntlet?
I would love to hear Dan and Nate. I think that would be funny as hell!
I don't recall having heard anything about the next brew of the month, but I haven't heard you guys do anything regarding Rackdos, and think that it might be a good combination to look into. Standard of course.
As for the Heroes of the web? My LGS lets the players provide the prize support in that we each donate a pack of our choice to the prize pool, and it gets divided amongst the top 3-4, depending upon how many people we have show up. Then we do a redraft.
I have to argue against Nate for the Redraft screwing people. I prefer it honestly, because it means that I can focus on actually making a decent/good/awesome deck, without having to worry if I am giving up a "Money Card". If you want that first pick rare, then you have to fight for it. Not just luck out by opening it. Or get hosed because you opened a Battle of Wits.
I'm going to shut up now before I start sounding like a Hero. lol
Still loving the show and can't wait for 121!

But how can I announce when I am one of the players? Or should Nate talk while I play?

Just talked to longtimegone. He said: 7:48 PM longtimegone: I've been trying to get in contact with Nate for the PttP event, I'm going to go ahead and call him, he sent me his number, so it should move along soon.

Has anyone tried a Beast build yet? Mono green or G/R? Nice Interaction between Primal Huntbeast & Advocate of the Beast. Also Battering Krasis would work pretty nicely. I know Huntbeast rotates but we've got him through August.

That way you don't see what the other players have in hand. But the main idea of the Gauntlet is that I am playing all the decks :-) I would love to do it for some other matches though. Maybe Nate & I could power comment the PttP tournament on Gatherling?

Maybe we could coordinate something together between you, Myself, and others to record your matches as you play. Though I don't think it would be near as entertaining as listening to you commentate Dan.

While I was listening to the podcast and they were plugging the new CPC I thought of the following Analogy.
Pauper to the People = Cheers
Competitive Pauper Cast = Frasier

I can just jump in to the tournament practice room, find an opponent instantly and even if they quit on me, it does not matter, as the result is significant anyway. So that would not be great ... BUT maybe it is worth a shot anyway. What time zone are you in?
