To begin, here's the list:
Lands (21)
4 Terramorphic Expanse
2 Evolving Wilds
8 Plains
7 Island
Creatures (10)
4 Guardian of the Guildpact
3 Palace Guard
3 Wall of Glare
Enchantments (15)
4 Curse of the Bloody Tome
2 Pentarch Ward
3 Oblivion Ring
4 Journey to Nowhere
2 Faith's Fetters
Artifacts (1)
1 Bonesplitter
Spells (13)
4 Dawn Charm
4 Brainstorm
4 Think Twice
1 Oona's Grace
Sideboard (15)
1 Pentarch Ward
2 Standard Bearer
3 Spidersilk Net
3 Spreading Seas
2 Rune of Protection: Green
2 Rune of Protection: Black
2 Prismatic Strands
Explaining the deck:
The main goal is to form a wall with Wall of Glare or Palace Guard against most aggro. To strengthen the protection you can cast Pentarch Ward to be able to block an entire deck of elves with only one creature. Then you got two options as win conditions:
1. Use Curse of the Bloody Tome and sit behind your wall to mill the opponent.
2. Use Guardian of the Guildpact and beat you opponent face with it (maybe a little help with Bonesplitter) while you sit behind your wall.
Oblivion Ring, Journey to Nowhere and Faith's Fetters:
You got eleven removal enchantment in deck. This is very useful against any deck (almost). If somebody got a better plan for my removal suit, don't be shy and let me know.
Spells:
Dawn Charm is all in all a very good pauper card. It's a Fog, a regenerate and a counterspell (against spell that target you). So you got protection from Kaervek's Torch (and the likes), can be used as a backup plan if your wall of protection is down or not online and can save a Palace Guard or a Wall of Glare from dying. The rest of the spells are there to help you get the stuff you need.
Sideboard:
It works for now but suggestions are welcomed.
Matchups:
I played around 10 games with the deck and got good success with it. My goal is to play at least 100 games with it and keep the scores (and sideboarding data). If this post gets activity and maybe better suggestions for the deck I will post my result.
For now i'm doing really good against UB Control (Which is one of the deck I wanted to be ready against). I beat Goblins and sometime even Burn. Did really good against stompy and mono black deck too. I guess that Delver and Mono Blue Control might be a challenge.
So I'm calling to all of you for ideas and comments, good or bad.
Thanx!
