Hello to everyone!
Bannings have happened and i think the format needed those changes alot because cloudpostdecks of all kinds and variations dominated the format. Each deck had to be build with the cloudpost in mind, and if your deck wasnt able to pull out at least a 50% win percentage against the cloudpost, the deck wasnt probably good enough for the competetive pauper metagame. This is my opinion on the bannings of temproal fissure and cloudpost.
What are the upsides of the bannings? A bunch of old favorite cards, long forgotten strategies and decks are now viable again!
For my part, i think that building a control deck in the first weeks of the new metagame will be realy hard because you have to prepare for to many things and corner cases because so many players will try so many different sweet things. I think the metagame in the first weeks will evolve all around the combatphase, stall situations and who has the better trumps/combat tricks! How do i want to approach this new metagame? I want a to build a deck that is able to Keep pace with the decks like stompy, goblins, affinity or delver and is able to grind out the control decks other people would try out. After playing alot mtgo with the new Project X deck, some variations of mono black control i played against a mono black Zombie list with all kinds of zmbies and removel. After winning a hard match i was exited about how resilent this deck was to removel and how many tricks it had to gain card/boardadvantage and could grind out other decks! The black Player at heart that iam , i was sold on this idea!
Here is the current list iam playing ( no sideboard included, the cards are switching around a lot to try new things out):
Lands
18 Swamp
1 Haunted Fengraf
Creatures
3 Viscera Dragger
3 Festering Goblin
4 Ghoulraiser
4 Carrion Feeder
3 Butcher Ghoul
1 Phyrexian Ghoul
4 Dregscape Zombie
3 Rotting Rats
Spells
4 Sign in Blood
2 Sylvok Lifestaff
4 Nameless Inversion
3 Tragic Slip
3 [ISD] Ghoulcaller's Chant
What do you guys think about this kind of deck? Is this deck a real option in pauper, wich cards iam missing, wich color could be added to improve such a deck? Would be cool to hear your opinions guys!
