This deck revolves around generating tons of mana to keep Prismatic Circle on the battlefield long enough to kill the opponent with Curse of the Bloody Tome. While I'm playing artifact ramp and color fixing, I thought I might as well also play Protective Sphere.
Protective Sphere 2W
Enchantment
1, Pay 1 life: Prevent all damage that would be dealt to you this turn by a source of your choice that shares a color with the mana spent on this activation cost. (Colorless mana prevents no damage.)
Prismatic Circle 2W
Enchantment
Cumulative upkeep 1 (At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent, then sacrifice it unless you pay its upkeep cost for each age counter on it.)
As Prismatic Circle enters the battlefield, choose a color.
1: The next time a source of your choice of the chosen color would deal damage to you this turn, prevent that damage.
The inspiration for this is obviously Shaffawaffa5's Rune of Protection deck and Deluxemill.
In testing, the problems seem to be colorless sources of damage (Affinity, Gathan Raiders, Spire Golem) and loss of life, although I haven't lost to MBC yet in two matches.
The deck could probably use some more/better draw, and the overall win condition of the deck may be better as Fangren Marauders and Ulamog's Crushers. I don't know.
2 Quicksand
4 Shimmering Grotto
4 Unknown Shores
4 Urza's Mine
4 Urza's Power Plant
4 Urza's Tower
4 Expedition Map
4 Chromatic Star
4 Chromatic Sphere
4 Prophetic Prism
4 Pristine Talisman
2 Pentad Prism
4 Curse of the Bloody Tome
4 Prismatic Circle
4 Protective Sphere
2 Crypt Incursion
2 Swirling Sandstorm
Happy brewing if this inspires you. Along these same lines, I tried generating tons of mana with Urzatron and gaining about 36 life per turn looping Martyr of Sands and Grim Harvest, looping Spore Frog and Grim Harvest, and looping Brindle Boar with Grim Harvest. All have been about equal in mediocrity.
