Most seem to think you should hold on to them, in case of an unban, because you won't get that much for them.

Wow, that's interesting, I just checked the price and they are selling for $5.23 each. That is crazy, I thought they were only 2 each. It's what they were when I bought them. I might sell them...I fell like the price will drop on them after the bannings take place and grab them later on.....but then again, they do hose Electrickery in MWA

I fear these bannings have cast a great shadow over the format I loved how the metagame had so many puzzles to be solved and if you wanted to play competitively you needed to take into account varied archetypes and be prepared to fight againts turn3 decks. We shall see how the metagame shifts. My bad feeling is that already strong archetypes like monoblue and Izzetpost are growing very strong and the tier1/tier1.5 will be smaller than before.

I'm worried too. Neither Infect nor Storm were top decks, but they did help balance the Metagame because of how they matched-up with other decks. Them gone means that other archetypes are going to lose their edges in the broad metagame, and that can only benefit the Post decks. Expect a lot of U/x Post mirror-matches in the coming months. Because there's really no reason to play anything else in Classic Pauper right now. Guess it's a good time to start looking at Standard Pauper...

Guess it's a good time to start looking at Standard Pauper... Ah you figured out the great master plan!!! Ban all the good stuffs so only 1 deck is viable, and have everybody switch to a format that is "more healthy" or something like that. [/tongueCheek]

My favorite deck is Infect. Nonetheless, I think these bannings are a good idea.
Storm is gone... except for Familiar Storm, which goes off on turn 4-5, and which no one really minds. Infect is still here, but it will be killing you on turn 3, rather than turn 2. The result is to slow the format down by a turn a two, which should give some of the tier 1.5 decks room to breathe. I expect we'll see some new decks pop up, and some old decks that fell by the wayside to reappear in force. It'll be exciting.

See the thing that I don't understand is that in their article they explain that for Modern they banned Seething Song. An ENABELER of Storm, not the win con. Why didn't they do that in Pauper? They could have easily banned one of the dig spells (hurting Faeries/Delver in the process) or one of the plethora fast mana spells like Dark Ritual, Manamorphose, or even Lotus Petal (working dual shift with some versions of Infect). I just think their logic is what we don't quite understand.
tl;dr Modern Storm = Ban a fast mana spell Pauper Storm = Ban the decks 2 only wincons (and the reason to play the deck)

www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/232Re-reading the ban list update, it mentions at the bottom that these will be updated monthly from now on. While this also has the potential to become utterly degenerate, with a list in constant flux, it's pretty interesting to see them take broad strokes, with the knowledge it could only last a month.

Now this concerns me. Monthly changes to the format has the potential to keep the format in such a state that it could lose a significant player base. I, for one, don't want to play in a format where any card I invest in has a chance a being banned a few weeks later. Not a good choice wizards.

The "Changes to Magic Online–only formats are now announced monthly" bit has been around for at least two years. I don't think they actually bother to check on the MTGO formats more frequently, so don't read too much into it. In fact, today's Magic Online group posting just has a link to the B&R update; it doesn't even mention that for once there are actually changes. @mr. Kris -- Updates to the list are scheduled for the Monday after each prerelease, so there are four a year (core set + three block sets)
